Meet Reuben and Kiara

Reuben and Kiara met during their college years at an Intervarsity Christian Fellowship conference. Through their involvement with Intervarsity, they began to date and both developed a passion for multicultural ministry. As a result, they began to invest in the North Hill community after college.

Reuben and Kiara long dreamed of becoming homeowners. They had both experienced many moves as renters growing up and knew they wanted the stability of owning their own home. However, at the end of each month, they found themselves no closer to their goal. After learning about LOS, they enrolled in our financial counseling program to help them save money towards a down payment and rebuild their credit. Only a few months into making these financial changes, Reuben and Kiara shared how they didn’t need to panic about finances because they had a plan for the future. After helping fully renovate their new home, Reuben and Kiara become first-time homeowners in 2021.

Since becoming homeowners, Reuben and Kiara have become deeply involved in the North Hill community. Reuben currently works at a neighborhood after-school program where Kiara regularly volunteers as well. They have welcomed many neighborhood kids into their home on Keeney Street as they seek to invest deeply in the next generation.
